ABOUT the ARTIST

quotes

Art becomes true ART
when it is created and contemplated
from the soul.

Josefina Las Heras Zarif

I am a painter with a background in communication. My practice is primarily self-taught and expands into muralism, artistic painting, and the study of composition and semiotics.

In recent years, my connection with Nature has deepened through direct contact and observation of plants and animals, as well as through the discovery of their own languages— a process that inspired me to develop this project.

With several years of experience in muralism, I understand Art in public space as an expansive medium that fosters connection, inspires creativity, and raises awareness.

This project is part of my path, leading me to territories in direct relationship with Nature and communities. In each mural, the process becomes a space for learning, where the encounter with each place enriches me and deeply transforms my life.

The Importance of Public Art

In my experience, Art has come to hold an increasingly clear and profound place: something that should be accessible to all beings—not as a privilege, but like Nature itself, open, alive, and available to everyone.

My intention is for Biodiversity, through Art, to expand and share its richness with those who pass by—becoming part of everyday life and shared space, offering beauty, reflection, and knowledge.

My Art Project - Huella Silvestre, focuses especially on working within the territory, particularly in towns where the connection with nature remains alive and openness to exchange allows for more living and participatory processes.
