A MURAL for my COMMUNITY
Any Noble intention,
backed by dedication and commitment,
makes the impossible possible.
Biocultural Murals emerge from the meeting of territory, community, and nature. For this reason, it is essential to have the interest and participation of individuals, organizations, or spaces that can accompany and support the process.
Their starting point is not an available wall, but the Flora and Fauna that a territory has to recognize, value, and make visible. As works of public art, they are preferably developed in open and freely accessible spaces, where anyone can encounter the artwork without entrance restrictions or associated costs.
The Project seeks to promote a culture of the common good, understanding that beauty, Nature, and Art acquire even greater value when they can be shared. Each mural aspires to become a gift to the community: a space for contemplation, identity, and belonging that transcends individual benefit and contributes to collective well-being.
What does it take to create a mural in your community?
- Adequate Space
Having a wall or surface in a public space that is in good condition and has been approved for use.
- Permits Management
Ensuring the necessary agreements with owners, the community, or relevant authorities. - Local Coordination
Involving people, organizations, or collectives that can support the process from within the territory. - Logistical Support
Considering materials, timing, access, tools, and possible needs during the execution. - Community Participation
Willingness to open spaces for gathering, dialogue, and collaboration throughout the creative process. - Mural Sustainability
Commitment to the care, maintenance, and long-term preservation of the artwork.
